The Caltech
Guide to Fellowships and Scholarships provides
an outline, guidelines and weblinks to 35 different
funding sources for students.
The USEPA
usually offers several grants for students and postdocs.
Several of which include the Science
to Achieve Results (STAR) Fellowships for Graduate Environmental
Study, EPA Greater Research Opportunities (GRO) Fellowships
for Graduate Environmental Study, and the
P3
Award (A Student Design Competition for Sustainability).
The National
Science Foundation also offers several grants
for students and postdocs, both within the US and abroad.
Search their website for specific programs.
For additional funds, check your local EPA, local institutes,
and research organizations (USDA, DOE) (for example,
Chicago's Waste Management Resource Center hosts a competition).

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES |

Fulbright
Grants for educational and cultural exchange
offers opportunities for US students to spend anywhere
from 6 months to a year conducting research in a foreign
country as well as providing a similar exchange for
nonUS students to conduct research in the US.
OakRidge
National Laboratories in Tennessee offers
several internship and postdoc opportunities, including
the RAMS (Research Alliance in Math and Science) Program.
The Environmental
Careers Organization offers numerous internships.
They have partnerships with USEPA, USGS, NOAA and many
other organizations.
