August 5 - Sunday
ISIE Student Chapter Social Hour
Place and Time TBD
Sunday and every evening thereafter immediately following the conclusion of meetings, coversation at various local pubs. Social hour after the conference tends to be the best place for mingling with the rest of the conference attendees. In the past, nearly the entire conference has joined the student chapter on the local pub outings. At the end of the conference day, we'll announce where we're going and point out who you should follow.
August 6 - Monday
ISIE Student Chapter meeting : 13:30-14:30
Room Lecture A
At the annual student chapter meeting, we will discuss student chapter activities including the student-only industrial ecology conference held in April of 2006 in Indiana as well as student chapter funding for new projects like an international research exchange. Participants can also suggest activities that they would like to see the student chapter take on. Nominations will be accepted for 2006-2007 officers, who will be named at the meeting. Email Amy Landis (alandi1@uic.edu) if you would like to get involved, even if you aren't able to attend the conference.
August 7 - Tuesday
Poster Competition : 16:00-18:00
Join over twenty students to compete for fabulous prizes! The competition will be judged by members of the ISIE community. Awards will be made on August 10th at the close of the GRC, where the winner will present his or her research and be rewarded with a one year student membership to ISIE. If you've been accepted to give a poster and are a student, email Ming Xu NOW to add your name to the list of poster competitors.
August 8 - Tuesday
ISIE Student Chapter Social Event : Afternoon

During afternoon break, we will play soccer or football at a location to be determined
August 9 - Wednesday
Graduate Student Professional Development Session : 13:30-15:30
Room Lecture B
The professional development session aims to foster networking, research collaboration, and discussions amongst students, faculty, and professionals with similar research interests. Participants may choose to join the discussions of three focus groups: Energy, Product and material management, and Integrating social science and engineering methods. The discussions will be lead by both a student and a faculty member or industry professional. Discussion leaders will focus the conversation on one of the three topics and facilitate connections between the research interests of the group participants. You do not have to sign up for the session. Simply show up!
