Gordon Research Conference in Industrial Ecology
Colby-Sawyer College
New London, New Hampshire
USA
August 17-22, 2008
Gordon Research Conferences (GRCs) are highly regarded for their innovative format, bringing together about 125 individuals from a variety of backgrounds and career stages for 4 days of cutting-edge presentations and off-the-record exchanges over interdisciplinary subjects. The 6th GRC in Industrial Ecology is now being organized, so mark the dates on your calendar.
Typical days have a morning session and an evening session, with afternoons reserved for informal discussion and recreation. Speakers at each session present new work, typically unpublished, at the frontiers of the field, followed by extensive discussion and lively debate. All sessions are held in plenary, and all participants in the GRC have the opportunity to be substantially involved.
Poster sessions offer an additional opportunity for participants to present and discuss their work. Students are encouraged to join the ISIE Student Chapter, which plays an active role at the GRC.
Your suggestions on topics and speakers are welcome,
especially before September 2007!

Student poster competition of Gordon Research Conference on Industrial Ecology
The schedule of 2008 Gordon Research Conference on Industrial Ecology has been posted on this website.
Poster sessions at the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Industrial Ecology (IE) are an integral part of the conference, and will be held at every afternoon (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm from) from Monday to Thursday. To provide appropriate focus on the posters, no conference presentations are scheduled during the poster sessions.
To submit a poster, an abstract complete with title, author(s), and affiliation/address (one page) should be submitted to the 2008 Vice Chair, Reid Lifset, at reid.lifset@yale.edu. There are two deadlines for submission of poster abstracts: March 30 and June 30. Poster proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis, that is, as they are received, up through March 30, with additional posters accepted as space permits until June 30. As with the application to participate in the GRC, here too, it is advantageous to submit poster proposals earlier rather than later.
In order to encourage more students to participate in the poster sessions, a student poster competition will be held. Three winners will be chosen, and they will be given some prizes from ISIE. We sincerely invite you to take part in the student poster competition.
If you want to know the detailed information of the poster sessions, just visit this website, and find the light green web button.
If you are interested in the student poster competition and have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Weiqiang CHEN (yutouren@gmail.com), the poster competition chair of the Student Chapter of ISIE.
You may request financial aid to participate in the conference by submitting a student fellowship application.
